SPRING 2007

FREUNDSCHAFTSABEND
The Society will hold its Freundschaftabend "friendship evening" on May 12 at the Donauschwaben Haus. The band of the evening is the Alpen Echos. The interesting theme – Mardi Gras – will certainly provide for an unforgettable experience.

DIRNDL-TRACHTENBALL
June 9 is the date of the yearly Dirndl-Trachtenball, to which our members and guests show off their traditional costumes. The Al Nowak Edelweiss Orchestra will play. All are cordially invited!

DINNER DANCE
On February 10, the Society held its annual Dinner Dance. The good food, together with the following dance with the Rheingold Band, provided for a truly nice evening. Thanks go to Kevin and Anne Wilzbach and their committee for their hard work.

JOHANN STRAUSS BALL
On March 10, the Society celebrated its elegant Johann Strauss Ball. It is estimated that more that 300 people were at the Ball. Thanks to Hans and Kathi Weissmann and their capable dance committee as well as the Johann Strauss Dancers and the Alpen Echos, the dance was a huge success.

EASTER PARTY
On Sunday, April 1, the members Easter Party took place in the clubhouse. At the party, the Little Children’s and the Children’s groups performed. The Easter Bunny also made an appearance, which was fun for all children, big and small. A big thank you to the Ladies group, who planned the celebration, for their efforts.

Jim Bauknecht, Roric Schneider, and Rogar Schneider, who formed the 2006 audit committee, for their good work and to Treasurer Hans Weissmann for his loyal service in keeping the club’s books.

GOLF IS FUN!
August 12 is the date of this yearís golf outing. The tournament begins at 10:30 at Pebble Creek Golf Course. Please contact Bob Decher (decherr@excite.com) for reservations and further information.

DONAUSCHWABEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL
St. Michaelís Chapel was dedicated to the Donauschwaben on April 8. The chapel is located near Toronto, Canada (7788 Yonge Street). More information can be obtained by calling 416.590.9412.
